Hi Ship,

Suction will not deteriorate over time. We do recommend cleaning the pre-motor filters every 3 months to maintain maximum suction. (Simply rinse under tap water until water runs clear then let air dry before replacing them)

Question
Edge to edge vac?
This question was asked earlier but answered properly. Without using any attachments....does this vacuum perform edge to edge cleaning? Does the main vacuum clean right up against baseboards as you use it?

I was pleased with the edge-to-edge cleaning. It got the fake tree needles without much effort. I would use the attachment if I were to get truly serious about it...

Question
I am interesting in purchasing this for my business, is it truly professional grade?
I own a cleaning business and clean residential and commercial buildings about 3 days a week and wondered if this vacuum is truly up to the task? My current vacuum was tough but at 10 years old, it only handled about a year a half with me and the business and it's needs to be replaced IMMEDIATELY! I could only hope for HALF that life out of the next one...

NO!! It's absolutely awful!! I have been using it in my home for six months and it is going back. You will be wasting so much time dealing with this. It doesn't even have a retractable cord.

I have a toddler and a baby and only use the vacuum for home use but it picks up great and cleans really well so I would think it would do well for a business too. I would assume the businesses you clean are cleaner than a super busy toddler :)

It's awful on hardwood and tile. Even with the roller brush off it just shoots dirt out the back rather than sucking it up.

It has a brushroll shut off and is one of the reasons I purchased this model because we plan to have hardwood floors installed in the near future. There is also a hose attachment I think would be great to use on hardwood floors.

I switch from carpet to hardwood with ease and it does a great job. The only issue I have is under the front edge of the fridge. The front is a little too thick to go under the door. But other than that I love it.

I believe so. It's a pretty powerful sucker - pretty comparable to a Dyson I also own. From a value point of view, it's really a great bang for your buck. I cannot compare to other brands in this price range ie Bissel, Hoover, etc.
