No...the top is NOT top-heavy. However the hose is not very long at all so I use my original vacumn for 'up top'.

You can disconnect the vacuum from the base and carry it while you use the attachments. It is a very good feature and better on your back. You then reattach it to the base to clean the carpets.

answer 2
As long as the kitty litter is dry, it won't cause a problem. Wet or soiled litter could potentially clog the vacuum and/or result in odors, but what you are talking about is usually dry litter that your cat tracks out onto the floor when leaving the litter box. I've been vacuuming that for years with no problems.

No, we have two cats and it picks up all the litter with no problem. We LOVE this vacuum. It is better - and much less expensive - than our old popular expensive brand vacuum! Has all the same maneuverability of the "ball" models. Hope this helps!

One word. Amazing! I had to turn the suction down on the carpet, or the vacuum cleaner was too difficult to move across the floor. You will not be dissapointed.

It has really good suction-I had a dyson and it has far more than a dyson. It has a feature to lower the suction when you are vacuuming high pile carpets or throw rugs. I was amazed at the power it has. It practically runs by itself on carpet that has very low pile.

Great suction power. Better than my Oreck! Vacuumed my rugs and really got the leaves and dirt up, then I realized I did not have the beater bar on. Went over the rugs again and SUPER wow!! Very happy!

Question
Is this vacuum a good edge cleaner, like for the edges by the walls?
Do you have to use the attachments to clean along the edges? Or does the vacuum base clean well along the edges? I like attachments, but I don't like to have to use them.

I use on both carpet and travertine (stone tile) with the brushes turning (in carpet mode) as this works better than the bare floor setting for me. I need to suck up small leaves the dogs drag in daily.

answer 2
Anything that gets sucked up gets collected in the dust bin. Sometimes super-fine dust particles escape the dust bin, but they are immediately trapped by the pre-motor filters. If, somehow, anything (it would have to be microscopic) happens to bypass the pre-motor filters, it would be trapped by the post-motor HEPA filter.
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away vacuums utilize the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology and are even certified by the British Allergy Foundation.

Question
Re the Shark NV2356K vacuum. Is it self propelled? Some customer answered no and others said yes. What does Shark say? Also is there a cord rewind
We are seniors and not as spry as we used to be. We are looking for a Shark self-propelled and auto rewind unit to clean carpets and remove pet hair. What is recommended by the Sharp company and other customers? Some customer reviews said this model was self-propelled and others said it was not. No one mentiond cord rewind feature.

Sorry, but the shark NV356K is NOT self-propelled. However, it's very powerful so it moves very easily across carpet. And no, it does not have an auto rewind for the cord. Would be nice if it did. But other than those two cons I can't thnk of another! And I don't really count the self-propelled issue a con because it moves very easily across my plush carpet.
