I used round rods. I actually used conduit pipe because I had a row of windows 26feet long and conduit connectors because of cost and was able to join all together.

I would have used a 1 3/8" rod but couldn't find one long enough - I put 4 panels on an 8' sliding door. The 1 1/4" works just fine.

I live in a quiet community but have a firestation about a quarter mile away. Downstairs in my livingroom and kitchen I hear them everytime they leave the station but I do not hear them when sleeping during the day in the upstairs bedroom - at least the sound is not loud enough to disturb me....so I must say that the noise reduction feature mentioned in the description is accurate.

Hello,

The curtains do not have a foam backing but they do have blackout technology woven into the fabric.

The Eclipse Thermaback panels are the ones with the white foam backing.

Thank You
